ABOUT US

Our History

Healing Waters was established in May 2019 and is an all-volunteer organization made up of compassionate individuals with a shared vision and a commitment to the homeless. Freedom in Christ Church owns the mobile shower unit, and we contract and pay for its use at locations accessible to the homeless. Father Dominic Vu, from The City of God, provided the seed money to implement our vision. Healing Waters plans, organizes, and ensures that the showers have volunteers and support from the local churches and community. For optimal use of the showers, location and times are in conjunction with hot lunches provided by organizations for the homeless and those in need.

Our Purpose

Healing Waters, inc. provides mobile showers and attendant services to the homeless. Cleansing the body is a basic hygienic need taken for granted by so many but denied to the homeless. A hot shower is a simple step towards restoring dignity, renewing the human spirit, and providing a sense of self-worth. We hope that these services will act as a catalyst for positive change from within. Through service given in the love of Christ to our marginalized sisters and brothers in whom we see His image, healing is possible on many levels.

News Update

In August 2023, Healing Waters expanded its services to reach the homeless in the city of Beaumont. Showers are offered on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday from 10:15 am to 12:15 pm at Beaumont Presbyterian Church. This was in addition to the showers currently offered on Tuesdays from 2 pm to 4 pm at Set Free Church in Banning and Fridays from 10:15 am to 12:15 pm at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church in Banning.  We continue to explore new ways to better serve and provide dignity to our homeless community.
